The Magic Kingdom park and resort is set to launch its annual spring opening celebration by the end of this year, but it could be months before the park is open.
The announcement came Tuesday during a panel at Disney California Adventure, where a group of Disney park designers were asked about the company’s plans for the park in the coming year.
“We are definitely getting there, I mean, I think we have all kinds of plans for 2019 and 2020,” said Paul Lefler, the chief executive of Universal Orlando.
“The big one is a big expansion, but also we are really excited about the possibility of an extended spring season, as we will open early and be open for the rest of the spring.
We will certainly be open more often.”
Lefler said the park will open a new pavilion in 2019 and then expand the park even further to expand its attractions.
The park is also set to add a new ride, The Great Movie Ride, to the park.
The company is also working on a second attraction, The Land Before Time, which will be part of the new movie theater in 2019.
The new attraction will be the biggest of the two, according to Lefller.
Disney plans to open a slew of new attractions during the summer, with more than 100 new rides, a new water park and an entirely new park in 2020.
The majority of the parks theme park has already opened in the past two years, including a massive expansion at Epcot’s Tomorrowland, which opened in June.
