OKC – OKC Parks and Entertainment will continue operating on Tuesday after a tornado that devastated the city forced it to close the following day.
The park and theme park operator said it will not open for guests to visit the Seattle and Tacoma theme parks on Tuesday, but it will reopen in mid-May.
The parks and theme parks that will remain open include the Seattle Tacoma and Seattle’s Aquariums, the park’s general manager said.
The city’s parks will be closed, and residents in areas affected by the tornado will be able to park at parks, and they will be allowed to walk to parks.
The tornado ripped through the city on May 19.
There are now 16 fatalities and more than 100 injuries.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is responsible for oversight of Oklahoma’s parks, amusement parks, beaches, amusement rides, theme parks, theaters and other venues.
